Therapy
Therapy for people who've spent years trying to fit a version of themselves that was never quite right.
HOW THERAPY CAN HELP
Therapy is a space to stop and think. Our psychologists work in a way that's supportive and affirming, particularly for people who are neurodivergent, whether that's ADHD, autism, or both.
The aim is to help you understand your brain and what you need. We might look at the ways you've learned to cope, often through masking and pushing through, and notice what's not working anymore. Therapy can help you connect with who you are underneath all the coping and burnout, and start building a life that fits, rather than one you're just getting through.
It's also a place to untangle the old stories. The ones that say you're "lazy," "too much," or "not trying hard enough." For a lot of people, these patterns lead to chronic stress and burnout that's hard to even name. We'll look at what's underneath, so things start to make more sense.
THE PROCESS
What to expect from therapy sessions
Cost: £130 per session
As clinical psychologists, we're trained in different therapeutic approaches and tailor things to what you need. Therapy might focus on what's happening now, or look back at earlier experiences to understand how certain patterns got started.
We work with adults and children across a range of difficulties and neurodivergent experiences. In sessions, we might look at how your neurodivergence shows up in your life, what patterns have developed, and what you'd like to change. Sometimes that's practical, like managing overwhelm or navigating burnout. Other times it's more emotional, like working through shame, self-doubt or rejection sensitivity.
Sessions are an hour. Therapy can be short-term or longer-term, and we'll check in regularly to make sure it's working for you.
Crisis support
Please note we are unable to offer a crisis service, which means we cannot support people who are currently suicidal or engaging in serious self-harm. This is because in such cases, crisis team and/or multidisciplinary team support is needed.
